Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Lopez Island Library!

Volunteers Are Important

Volunteers play a valuable role in keeping the library running. The generous contribution of your talents and resources benefits the community members who use and depend on the library. With the help and dedication of many volunteers like you, the Lopez Island Library has become one of the most successful libraries in Washington. Thank You!

Not only is your help greatly appreciated in making this community service the best it possibly can, we also appreciate the time that you are taking from your own schedule to help others and contribute to the Library’s mission.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Lopez Community is rich in persons who bring a multitude of skill sets to our island. The Lopez Library strives to match the abilities and interests of potential volunteers with the needs of the community and library. Following is a list of “crews” that volunteers can join, each targeted at specific activities to help volunteers identify where their interests and skills will best shine. How to become a Volunteer

Please follow this link to fill out a volunteer application online or download and print Lopez Library’s Volunteer Application, or come into the Library to fill out a paper application in person.

Our Volunteer Coordinator, Claudia Rempel, will email or call you to notify that your application has been received. From there, a time will be scheduled for you to come into the Library for an orientation. Following your orientation you will choose the Crews of interest and schedule a training to begin volunteering!
