Friends of the Library

Welcome to Friends of the Lopez Island Library

YOU can help the Lopez Island Library thrive!

You might already be familiar with the rich diversity of programs that the Lopez Island Library offers the community. But did you know that the Library relies on donations from people like you to make ends meet?

That’s where the Friends of the Lopez Island Library comes in. The Friends is an all-volunteer organization that works closely with the Library staff to fund priority projects. As a 501(c)3 organization, all contributions to the Friends are tax-deductible.

To keep the Library’s special programs going, please consider a donation today.

Last year, Friends of the Lopez Island Library provided more than $60,000 in funding for the Library including:

  • New book acquisitions to keep our robust collection relevant and useful
  • Author readings, writing workshops, and access to Seattle Arts and Lectures online
  • Engaging young people with StoryTime, Middle Readers Club and Teen Movie Night
  • Live music events and a lending library of musical instruments
  • Internships that inspire Lopez teens while providing support for library programs
  • Lifelong literacy programs to transform lives and lift up those who need us most

We even stepped in with financial support when inspections revealed the need for an extensive rehabilitation of the fire alarm system.

Whether you are on Lopez two weeks a year or 52, your support is a crucial part of the Library’s success.

Your support = our shared future!
