MAKE A CONTRIBUTION

You might already be familiar with the rich diversity of programs that the Lopez Island Library offers the community. But did you know that the Library relies on donations from people like you to make ends meet?

That’s where the Friends of the Lopez Island Library comes in. The Friends is an all-volunteer organization that works closely with the Library staff to fund priority projects. As a 501(c)3 organization, all contributions to the Friends are tax-deductible.

To keep the Library’s special programs going, please consider a donation today.

If you would prefer to contribute by check, please send to:

Friends of the Lopez Island Library
P.O. Box 44
Lopez Island, WA 98261

In addition to a direct financial contribution, here are other ways you can help.

DONATE BOOKS

When you donate your well-loved books in good condition, we can resell those books and funnel the proceeds directly into Library programs.  You can drop off your books at the front desk of the Library any time the library is open.

In addition to our annual Fourth of July book sale at the Community Center, the Friends of the Lopez Island Library sell books year-round.  We have a special shelf of books for sale in the Library lobby and at the waiting room at the Lopez ferry terminal.  We often have a booth at the Lopez Farmers Market in the summer months and other community events.

Library staff will assess your books and first decide if any should be added to the Library’s collection. Any item not added to the collection will be stored and sorted by Friends volunteers for book sales. Books must be in good condition.

Ask yourself – would I give this book to a good friend?  If the answer is yes, please consider giving it to Friends of the Lopez Island Library!

We Are Grateful to Receive

  • Materials in GOOD condition

  • Books for all ages including children’s books

We Cannot Accept
