The Lopez Island Library would like to invite all children on Lopez Island to participate in the International Sing for Peace event on September 21st, 2022 at 11:00am.
International Sing for Peace Day is a world-wide ‘sing-in.’ In each timezone around the world, on September 21st, children sing a song called “Light a Candle for Peace” in all different languages for 24 hours. It is a 15-20 minute singing experience, enhanced by other peace activities of your choice or focus. Music has a way of breaching boundaries, healing hearts and bringing peace and warmth. Whether your child is in public school, private school, home-schooled or unschooled, we can all come together for a beautiful few minutes of singing for Peace around the world. Your classrooms or school group can join in right where you are!

For those without classrooms, we will be gathering at the Lopez Island Library for International Day of Peace to sing this song and invite (young to old) to gather and raise a voice for PEACE on September 21st at 11:00 am.
