Never Too Old: a Young Adult Book Club for Adults (formerly YARLI)

Never Too Old: a Young Adult Book Club for Adults (formerly YARLI: Young Adult Readers of Lopez Island) meets the 1st WEDNESDAY of the month to enjoy the wonders of young adult and middle grade books and authors. At present, our membership is all adult, but all ages are welcome. Our next meeting is September 1st in-person at the library. Email beth@lopezlibrary.org for more information.

Our September book is The Lines We Cross by Randa Abdel-Fattah.

“Michael’s parents are leaders of a new anti-immigrant political party called Aussie Values which is trying to halt the flood of refugees from the Middle East; Mina fled Afghanistan with her family ten years ago, and just wants to concentrate on fitting in and getting into college–but the mutual attraction they feel demands that they come to terms with their family’s concerns and decide where they stand in the ugly anti-Muslim politics of the time.”

Available in hardcover, paperback, and on Overdrive/Libby as an eBook & audiobook.
