#LopezGoodNeighbor Stories!

Lopez is a cozy, close knit community that is filled with generous folks with big hearts. Sadly, a great many new residents came to Lopez during COVID and didn’t always get to be welcomed to our “Friendly Isle” in traditional style. Here at the Lopez Library, we get to hear a lot of sweet, sweet stories about neighbors going out of their way to be kind.
So we thought it’s time to start the #LopezGoodNeighbor stories!!

What are your favorite good neighbor stories? Here’s a few we’ve heard to get you going:

When we made our final move to Lopez full time, we had a moving truck with all our essentials in it. So I put the word out on FaceBook and asked for help unloading and settling in. My wife was very pessimistic that we would get any help. Wouldn’t you know it that 5 folks showed up, helped us unload our refrigerator and all our heavy objects, put them all in the right places and the whole truck was unloaded in three hours! #LopezGoodNeighbor

Once a neighbor showed up at my house after he had heard at a breakfast club that I needed a new roof. He showed up with ladder and got to work! After being up there he realized that a new roof wasn’t needed at all, just a change to the size of the screws. Now not only is it not leaking anymore, but it saved me $50,000!!! #LopezGoodNeighbor
