Join local crafter Ellen Peterson on two Needlecraft Nights to make sheepskin-soled slippers. Using upcycled wool sweater material as uppers, and soft sheepskin for the soles, participants will learn how to measure, draw, design, leather punch, and sew their own custom slippers. During the second session, slippers can be completed and embellished with needle felting or appliquéd details.
Wednesdays, January 22 & 29, February 5 @ 5-7pm during Needlecraft Night.
If you wish to make slippers for someone other than yourself (such as a child) please bring a shoe that fits them or a tracing of their foot.
Participants who choose to crochet the uppers are welcome to bring their own yarn and crochet hook and will be free to improvise. However the instruction will be focused on basic sewn sweater slippers.
Sheepskin is limited, so please reserve your space by emailing Jane@LopezLibrary.org
