Apply to become a Lopez Library Artist in Residence (AIR) for 2025!
Artists of any artistic discipline(Visual artists, writers, poets, performers, film makers, designers, musicians, etc) welcome to apply, provided there is the ability to document and exhibit the resulting art works. In addition, AIR’s:
- Commit to being an Artist in Residence for a scheduled 2 month period (8 weeks)
- Using the Library collections, history, and SV as the conceptual foundation to craft their art works
- Commit to one: one artist talk or lecture, teaching a one class or workshop during their residency
- Exhibiting their resulting work at the First Saturday Art walk at the end of their residency
Artists will be offered:
- A stipend of $400
- A space to work on-site
- Increased Visibility, PR and promotion
- A unique opportunity to create art on Lopez Community in response to culturally valued themes
- Space to share their work with a large audience of viewers/participants
- Guidance and support from Community Alchemist and/or AIR Advisory Committee
