FantasyCon, Sat 10/19 @ 12-9 pm

Come join us for FanastyCon 2024! This is a whole day of Fantasy activities including one-shot table top roll playing games, hands on workshops, fantasy writers author discussions, a Delicious in Dungeon themed potluck, Dungeons and Dragons trivia championship and a costume contest! Read on below for the full day’s events, and please RSVP asap to reserve your place for gaming slots!  Costumes are encouraged throughout the day, and you are welcome to come for one event, some events, or all of them! 

Setting the Stage:

12:30-2 pm: 90 minute Workshop: Session Zero D&D: An ideal session for someone who is new to DnD and wants to learn! This is a session that gives a historical overview of Dungeons and Dragons games, gives some vocabulary and descriptions, how characters are built using character sheets etc. Premade character sheets will be used and overviews of dice rolling, fight mechanics. Please RSVP to stece@lifrc.org if you would like to participate. Maximum of 15 for this workshop.


12- 2 pm : Fantasy World Map Drawing Workshop taught by Janna Wiscomb. In this workshop, draw a full map of the fantasy world of your choice! All arts materials included. 


Let the Games Begin!!! 

2:30- 4:30  pm: Beginners DnD Game with Stece: Swamp Pirates. Join this one-shot game ideal for a first time player or beginner*. To RSVP please email Stece@lifrc.org.
*This is an introduction to a DnD game and may not finish in this amount of time. Participants will be invited to continue their game using the library community room at a date to be determined. 


12:30 pm – 7  pm : A one off game led by Jack Wood Community Room To join, please RSVP to jackulvjeger@gmail.com. 6 person maximum. 

 

2:30-5:30  pm: One shot game led with DM: Asa Kinney  Please RSVP to asalkinney@gmail.com

5:30-6:30 pm Fantasy Writers in conversation:  Author talks, Fantasy Writers: Dana Brentson & Helen Sanders: Come hear two local fantasy authors in conversation moderated by Nikyta Palmisani. Hear how Dana began as a Dungeon Master (lead storyteller of Dungeons and Dragons roll playing game) and this practice led her to become a fantasy writer. Both Dana and Helen have multi book series they will be discussing, with a time following for audience Q & A. 


6:30-7:30 pm: Delicious in Dungeon Potluck: Fabulous prizes for recipes from the D&D cookbook or Flavors of the Multiverse, prizes for  theme specific dishes  Prizes given at the top of the dinner before it all gets eaten! 

 


7:30- 8:30 pm:The Final Battle– The Big Bad End Guy Approacheth!! Form your party and test your knowledge in an encounter to see who are the ultimate champions!! D&D trivia game, battle to the(metaphoric) death with wondrous, legendary treasure prizes!!!

 


8:30-9 pm: Costume Contest & Awards Prizes
