This is the final week to submit your JPEG image to be considered for the community art exhibit with the theme,“A Library’s Place is at the Heart of a Community.” The Lopez Library welcomes any artworks created in response to this theme, especially anything that is reading or book related, depicts the Lopez Library facility and/or grounds, or offers a creative visual interpretation of what you love about this or any library in your life. All artistic media will be accepted, with the guideline that the work must be able to be safely hung or affixed temporarily to the Library’s walls. All works will be celebrated, and additionally one work will be selected as a “winner” through a community voting process. The winning artist will receive a $100 prize. All ages and artistic experience levels are encouraged to participate. The Lopez Library hopes to include all submissions, but reserves the right to refuse to exhibit any works deemed inappropriate.
To participate, please submit a digital image of your artwork (in JPEG format) to Malia Sanford, Library Programs and Art Coordinator, at malia@lopezlibrary.org. The deadline to submit is Wednesday, September 4th. The opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Friday, October 4th and will be on view at the Library until Thursday, November 15th. Proudly supported by the Friends of the Lopez Library.
