Stone Soup Magazine: by & for kids ages 8-13 and their teachers

Do you know the folktale, “Stone Soup” in which a community makes a delicious soup from stones? The theme of creating something beautiful by working together is the guiding philosophy of Stone Soup magazine, 100% written and illustrated by kids ages 8-13.

Lopez Library is proud to make this diverse magazine available to people of all ages. Wonderfully suited for individual reading and educational support, Stone Soup arrives monthly. Here is an excerpt from 8-year-old Emma Catherine Hoff’s poem, “How to Share an Apricot” (November 2021):

I shared

My apricot

With a bird.

It said,

“Thank you.”

I don’t know when the bird started talking.
