Best of the Fest Film: The Snake and The Whale, Friday, June 26, 7pm @ LCCA

Join us for the next installment of Friday Harbor Film Festival’s Best of the Fest series at the Lopez Community Center on Friday, June 26 at 7 PM.

The Snake and the Whale is a powerful and thought-provoking documentary that explores the intertwined fate of the Lower Snake River, endangered salmon runs, and Washington’s Southern Resident orcas. Through history, investigation, and deeply personal stories, the film examines the legacy of four dams on the Lower Snake River and their far-reaching impacts on ecosystems, wildlife, and communities across the Pacific Northwest. With only 73 Southern Resident orcas remaining, The Snake and the Whale asks urgent questions about what it will take to protect one of the region’s most iconic species.

Free and open to the public.

Presented by the Lopez Island Library in partnership with the Friday Harbor Film Festival and Friends of the Lopez Island Library.
