About the teacher: “Animal” James Nowak was introduced to mushrooms at an early age. As a child he joined family outings to collect wild fungus. James learned to grow mushrooms by participating in several cultivation seminars taught by Paul Stamets. He has served as cultivation chair for the Puget Sound Mycological society and has grown and sold mushrooms at Seattle formers markets for years. Currently he offers his services as a mushroom and truffle hunting guide along with his truffle dog Dino.
