May First Saturday Art Walk!

We are very excited to have many participating spaces for First Saturday Art Walk this month!

In order to make more space for the self guided art walk, the Library will now begin their openings at 4:30 pm! This month features the talented Michelle Mielke displaying her adorable Anigurumi creatures in the display case. She will speak about her work at 5 pm. On the walls is the botanical art of Linda Ann Vorobik, who will also do an artist talk from 5:15-5:45 pm in the Community Room on “Island to Islands: One Woman’s Journey through Botany and Botanical Art in the West” & Pop-Up Show with Sale of Silk, Cards, & Prints.

Between 5-7 pm the following spaces will be open:

Chimera Gallery is showing the gorgeous work of Sheila Creps-Simpson, Bruce Creps and Marie Luckhurst.

Skarpari Gallery will have their amazing homewares and handmade knives, and viewers are always in luck with local artists on display.

Lopez Artist Guild will have a group show at the Gathering Place, just behind LVM in the Hamlet housing complex. Just follow the large ART sandwich board signs!

The Lopez Grind Coffeeshop is now exhibiting youth art and in May are featuring the Young Artists of Lopez Children’s Center! This vibrant showcase features acrylic pour paintings created by children ages 12 months to 5 years old at Lopez Children’s Center. Each piece reflects the joy of early creative exploration, honors our beliefs in child-led process-based art, allowing children full creative autonomy in their artistic composition and engagement with materials. All proceeds from the sale of these artworks directly support scholarships for local middle income families.
