Colin Snapp spent his childhood on Lopez Island immersed in nature, sky, sea, field and forest. He went to art school in San Francisco and then moved to New York and later to Los Angeles. His fine art photography, installations, soundscapes, film and video explore how the effects of technology and industry on landscape and nature interact with human perception.
Colin will present a short film screening of his work “LA Field Study #1” that was shown last week at the Richardson dock. “LA Field Study #1” is the first installment in a series that will be presented by Lopez Library in the coming months, exploring how the effects of technology and industry on landscape and nature interact with human perception. This is an opportunity to hear from the artist about his creative process and the meaning behind his work.
Colin’s fine art photography, installations, soundscapes, film and video projects have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world. He moved back to Lopez full time a few years ago.
