The Lopez Library is pleased to feature the mixed media art of Amy Ferron. Her show, titled “MapScapes” will run from April 6th to May 18, 2018. Please stop by the library to see the show. Her biography is below:
“Amy Ferron is a painter and fabric artist whose hard-edged shapes create their own fantastic worlds. Amy’s years as a master quilter inform her painting style, translating from fabric into paint and collage the artful play of geometries that she uses to define space with light and dark. Her paintings have been exhibited at the Washington State Convention Center, Seattle City Hall, Center of Contemporary Art, Kirkland Arts Center, Anacortes Art Festival, Ryan James Fine Arts, and numerous other local galleries and juried shows.
Wayfinding tools of old such as atlases, topographical maps, and charts are a common denominator in her art. She combines beautiful, colorful and quirky papers and paint to create unique landscapes, unusual portraits and abstract works.”
