Yarely Torres Reynoso, Artist in Residence, will conduct a workshop and lecture/demonstration at the Community Meeting room on Saturday August 29th from 2-4pm.
Suitable for all ages (with small motor control) the workshop will introduce Yarely’s work presenting their past animated short films, exploring a brief history of western animation, and sharing the ability to animate as an accessible craft with the community. They encourage anyone from any, or no, arts background to participate in traditional 2D graphite and paper animation that they will be able to take home. In a side-by-side style lecture, people of all ages will be encouraged to share their memories and relationship to animation while following along to flip-book and stop-motion style teachings.
Yarely Torres Reynoso is a Mexican-American traditional and experimental animator from the Pacific Northwest. They practiced visual arts and media production at The Evergreen State College, where they created their first few animated short films.
