We’re Hiring! Teen Interns wanted for Summer. Applications due March 16, 5pm

The Lopez Island Library is soliciting applications for paid Summer Internships. These positions run through the duration of Summer Break.

What this job is about

You will have the unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the Lopez Island community while gaining valuable experience in library science, developing teen programs, and working with the public. Your role as a Teen Intern will be instrumental in creating and promoting programs and activities that engage and inspire other teens. You will work alongside a dedicated team of library professionals who are committed to providing exceptional service to the community. This is a chance to not only enhance your own skills and knowledge but also to inspire others to pursue their passions and make a difference in their own lives and the lives of those around them.

You will be focused on working closely with library staff and the community to deliver excellence in a wide variety of library activities, including:

  • Assist with daily library operations, including checking items in and out, shelving materials, and other circulation desk responsibilities
  • Contribute to the creation and promotion of public programs and activities
  • Provide excellent customer service to library patrons
  • Support the design and installation of displays and other activities to promote library materials and events
  • Other duties as assigned
