The Lopez Island Library is soliciting applications for paid Summer Internships. These positions begin at the start of Summer break with a limited number having the potential to continue into the 2025/2026 school year.

You will have the unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the Lopez Island community while gaining valuable experience in library science, developing teen programs, and working with the public. Your role as a Teen Intern will be instrumental in creating and promoting programs and activities that engage and inspire other teens. You will work alongside a dedicated team of library professionals who are committed to providing exceptional service to the community. This is a chance to not only enhance your own skills and knowledge but also to inspire others to pursue their passions and make a difference in their own lives and the lives of those around them.
You will be focused on working closely with library staff and the community to deliver excellence in a wide variety of library activities, including:
- Assist with daily library operations, including checking books in and out, shelving books, and other circulation desk responsibilities
- Contribute to the creation and promotion of teen programs and activities
- Provide excellent customer service to library patrons
- Support the design and installation of displays and other activities to promote library materials and events
- Other duties as assigned

- Must be a high-school student living on Lopez Island and at least 14 years old
