In the ever-expanding age of constant consumption, the preciousness of materiality has been increasingly lost. Multimedia artist Iris Hazelton explores the concepts of rebirth, dawn, and reciprocity through her paintings, made on surfaces found and gifted from around San Juan County. Her pieces, which reference imagery taken from the Library, Dump, and Exchange, celebrate the splendor of our locality and remind of what must be protected from the refuse of the material age.
Come see Iris present her work during the First Saturday Art Walk on Saturday April 4th at 4:30PM. Her paintings will be displayed in the library until May 2nd.
