Evening walks in Lopez Village are magical, Sunsets over Weeks Wetland, boats returning to Fisherman Bay, and birdsong at dusk all remind us how lucky we are to live among such beauty. It’s no wonder Lopez inspires artists of every kind. That creative spirit comes alive during the monthly First Saturday Art Walk, a free, self-guided event in the Village beginning at 4:30pm in the library. Featuring artist exhibitions and talks, stellar local restaurants and businesses, and plenty of people watching, the Art Walk is an easy, welcoming way to celebrate the island’s vibrant arts community and connect with friends and neighbors.
Coming up Saturday, March 7! Start at the Lopez Library at 4:30 pm for an opening celebration featuring two photographers with roots on the island. Pamela Pulver and Michael Sobel will talk about the stories, people, and community behind their work.
AND there’s great art around the Village!
“Loving the Island We Share”
Chimera Gallery invites you to experience Loving the Island We Share, a new exhibition featuring the work of island artists Leslie Austin and Kristi Carpine-Taber. Through their distinct artistic voices, the exhibit reflects on the beauty, spirit, and shared sense of place that make Lopez Island such a special community.
Join for the Opening Reception on Saturday, March 7 from 5–7pm. Artists’ talks at 6pm. Enjoy refreshments, conversation, and the opportunity to meet the artists while exploring work that celebrates our connection to the land, water, and one another.
The exhibition will remain on view through April 3 at Chimera Gallery.
We hope you can join us for this monthly event amplifying and supporting local arts, culture and business on Lopez Island.
