Mushroom Cultivation and Identification Workshop

WORKSHOP IS FULL

On October 22nd & 23rd join James (Animal) Nowak for a weekend-long seminar that will cover two distinct aspects of mycology–cultivation and identification. On Saturday, simple methods of growing mushrooms both indoors and outdoors will be presented as well as basic fungal terminology and the mushroom life cycle. Participants will make an oyster mushroom grow kit to take home. Then on Sunday we will cover basic aspects of mushroom identification with an emphasis on local common mushrooms that are often found on Lopez. After the presentation we will head out to the forest for a short walk and discussion of the species encountered.
