InsideOut: an INSTRUCTIONAL ART collaboration with incarcerated artists – on display thru December

This art is started by one and completed by another. The second can’t be done without the first and the first remains hanging, longing in the air without the second. Incarcerated artists provide the instructions and us outside artists follow them. The art is secondary, the instructions are primary, the results are a byproduct of an experience of connection. We enter the creative lives of each other, if only for a moment, and through this we are bound: by a force, an experience, a decision, an action or an inaction. We come up against each other and offer you this. A visual, sculptural, auditory, technical, tangible, photographic, broken, hard of hearing compilation. All the lines that weren’t drawn and all the shards of interference are obvious and still we invite you to be with us as you invite us to be with you. To hear us as much as we want to hear you, to love us as much as we love you for all that we are in this moment.
