Welcome to the monthly installment of Reader Spotlight – in which we ask a library patron to tell us about their favorite books. During the month of February, we feature Freda Kvistad, a 12-year-old student at Spring Street International School. She shares a selection of favorites with us: North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley, Uprising by Margaret Peterson Haddix, Paper Towns and The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, Refugee by Alan Gratz, The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale, Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell, The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart, and The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. Stop by the Reader Spotlight display in the library to borrow one of Freda’s favorites. Some of the books have audio book, film, and graphic novel adaptations.
