Introduction to Block Printing:

Block Printing involves carving an image onto a smooth surface, applying ink, and transferring it onto paper using a press or hand pressure. Multiple prints can be made from a single block. This class is designed specifically for beginners—no prior art or printmaking experience is necessary. Participants will explore the basics of block printing techniques including image transfer, carving, inking and printing. All materials are provided, including inks, papers, and tools. By the end of the session, each student will leave with one or more completed prints to take home, along with a solid introduction to a creative and expressive art form.

This class is intended for students who have not previously taken a block printing class.
