Art in the Library Program

The Art in the Library program provides exhibition space for artworks of all kinds by local artists at any point in their career.* Art in the Library exhibits rotate on a regular six-week schedule. Every new exhibition is begun with an opening reception, which includes an informal artist talk and tour. This provides an opportunity for artists to discuss their work, and for art enthusiasts to get an  in-depth sense of the artworks on display.

In addition to providing the physical display space and a built-in audience of our library patrons, the Art in the Library program welcomes any exhibiting artists to facilitate workshops: introducing some aspect of their creative practice to an interested public. We think creativity — like information —is power, and should be accessible to everyone in a community, and that the library is a perfect space for making that happen.
