Mingled Visions: Images from the North American Indian, Edward S.Curtis, April 27th 3-5 PM, Whatcom Museum, Bellingham

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOn Monday, April 27th, the Whatcom Museum in Bellingham and the Lopez Library collaborate to bring patrons a gorgeous and unique evening.  Whatcom Museum is currently hosting Mingled Visions: Images from the North American Indian by Edward S Curtis, an exhibit of 40 of Edward S. Curtis’ photogravures (February 7th through May 10th, 2015).  A dedicated Lopez community docent guided tour of the photos will be provided from 3-5 PM on April 27th in the Curtis Gallery.  ($5 cash at the door, Curtis Exhibit only).  The tour is then followed by Pulitzer Prize winner Timothy Egan at 7 PM, Mt. Baker Theater.  Mr.Egan will discuss the Curtis images and his book “Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher: the Epic Life and Immortal Photographs of Edward Curtis“.  The Timothy Egan event is free.  Mt. Baker Theater is a short stroll from the Whatcom Museum with time in between the docent tour and the lecture for coffee, a glass of wine or dinner. Gather a few friends and attend together! Reservations for the Lopez docent guided tour are required and can be made through Jen Krajack, Lopez Library Program Coordinator or through any of the Lopez Library staff.  Whatcom Museum is located at 121 Prospect St., Bellingham, WA.
