Hispanic Heritage Month begins September 15th!

Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with the Lopez Library! Join us in honoring the generations of Hispanic people who have enriched our nation and society. September 15th is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16th and September 18th.

Here at the Lopez Library, we honor the histories and culture of Latin Americans by reading and listening to their words. Visit our book displays near the circulation desk and the children’s room. From home, you can view our collection of books, movies, and music by and for Hispanic people of all ages by clicking on the link below. Reserve an item, and it will be waiting for you at the library!
