Gretchen Wing Book Launch, Sat. Nov. 1st, 4-5:00 p.m.

AuthorphotoLopez Library and local author Gretchen Wing welcome the community to a book launch for Headwinds, The Flying Burgowski, Book Two.  Set on idyllic Dalby Island in Washington State, Headwinds picks up the story of fourteen year-old Jocelyn Burgowski, an otherwise normal girl who just happens to be a Flyer. Where The Flying Burgowski focused on Jocelyn’s discovery of her powers of flight, and her struggle to redeem her troubled mother, Headwinds sets Jocelyn on a darker course: someone wants to bring the Flyer down. In a race to discover her antagonist before she can be disempowered, Jocelyn must confront the questions all young people face: Why is it so hard to be a good person? How do you know when love is real?  Gretchen has promised a dramatic reading with cookies!   Join us as we revisit our new friend “Joss” and share this launch moment with author and friend Gretchen Wing.  In the Lopez Library Community Room. headwinds-halfcover
