Art in the Display Case: Marianna Haniger Ceramics

SONY DSCThe Lopez Library is pleased to display these beautiful pieces of artwork newly completed over the past six months. Marianna Haniger received her BFA from Cornish College of the Arts in 1991 with a degree in Video and Film. After 20 years of creating experimental video and films she decided to move away from electronics and in 2010 started creating sculptural works in clay.  “Slippers”, the work shown in this image, is just one of the pieces we are honored to feature in our display case as you enter the Lopez Library.  We encourage you to take a moment and enjoy this captivating work.

“This tableaux, not unlike a frame of film, conveys a window into my process. I hope you enjoy my exploration.” Mariana Haniger
